Hi everyone! Welcome to the 2026-2027 season!

This is a reminder that our first practice is tomorrow from 3:30-5:30. Practices will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays until further notice.

Let’s lock in this year for our 20th state championship- go Thunder!!!!!

NSDA Nationals starts tomorrow and we are checked in and ready to go! Send lots of good wishes to our amazing competitors who will be representing DV and TSTDC in Virginia this week:

Thank you for your patience as we made our way through applications, interviews, and in-depth FBI background checks (kidding) these past few weeks. I am so impressed by all of you and we are lucky to have so many accomplished and dedicated students on our team. Whether you got a position or not (or even applied or not), I hope all of you remember that leadership isn’t just about a formal title and there are so many ways to show up and help lead, strengthen, and support TSTDC in the coming year.

Thanks to everyone who has already submitted an application and signed up for an interview! Even if you want to share a position next year, each of you needs to individually fill out an application and sign up for an individual interview. I added a couple of spots on W afternoon because I didn’t initially factor in early release.

I will do interviews with everyone starting tomorrow so make sure to prepare and be ready to talk about the things listed under Step 5 on the application document. We won’t have time to talk about everything on there since we only have a limited amount of time per interview. I’m looking forward to talking with each of you soon and hearing your thoughts and ideas for the upcoming year.

Reminder that exec applications are due TODAY!! The interview spreadsheet has been changed: all interviews will be 15 minutes long due to the volume of applications.

I’ll be in 279 for a little while TODAY after school to answer any questions you may have about the different positions or the application process itself. Nothing formal and no requirement to attend- just swing by if you need clarification on anything!

Hi everyone-

Thank you for your patience as I have worked to review/refine our processes for officer applications and to further clarify the roles and responsibilities of the different executive positions for next year. Things may look a little different as we are trying some new things given existing time constraints and general end of the year craziness. 

Regardless of the process we use, the goal remains the same: to identify and select student leaders who are ready and willing to work together to continue building upon TSTDC’s tradition of excellence. As you consider whether this could be you, keep in mind that the skills required to be a good leader are unique and not necessarily the same ones needed to be a strong/successful competitor. We are looking for leaders who will make a positive impact on our team, get things done effectively, and lead by example.

We need student volunteers to promote our Graduation Gram fundraiser during both lunches next week (5/11-5/15). Students do not need to process orders, just join our table with samples of the Graduation Grams and the QR code for students to scan and place orders.

If you are looking to be a student leader next year, this is a great way to demonstrate your willingness to support the team.

All tournament details and answers to most questions can be found on the tournament website. Here are some additional details sent to me by the tournament in preparation for this weekend:

Media Release/Student Waiver: prior to Thursday, please download a copy of this entry release form waiver and get it signed. You can leave the signed copy in the right side desk drawer in 279. 

SRA: I submitted the SRA request for debaters to be released after 5th period on Thursday and Friday and Speech to be released after 5th on Friday. This should give you enough time to get home, get set up, and run a final test of your technology and internet prior to rounds dropping at 3PM.
