2026-2027 Exec Officers Application Info & Process

Hi everyone-

Thank you for your patience as I have worked to review/refine our processes for officer applications and to further clarify the roles and responsibilities of the different executive positions for next year. Things may look a little different as we are trying some new things given existing time constraints and general end of the year craziness. 


Regardless of the process we use, the goal remains the same: to identify and select student leaders who are ready and willing to work together to continue building upon TSTDC’s tradition of excellence. As you consider whether this could be you, keep in mind that the skills required to be a good leader are unique and not necessarily the same ones needed to be a strong/successful competitor. We are looking for leaders who will make a positive impact on our team, get things done effectively, and lead by example.


Sounds good, how do I apply? First and foremost, please make sure to thoroughly read and review the TSTDC 2026-2027 Exec Info and Application Process document in order to better understand the various positions and associated expectations for student leaders. Once you have done that, you can complete the following steps to be considered for an executive position for next year.


Application Submission Requirements

  1. Complete and submit the 2026-2027 TSTDC Online Exec Application prior to the end of the day on Monday, May 18. It is strongly suggested you read through all of the questions before you begin and that you compose and keep a copy of your answers in a separate document in case the form crashes mid-application or your submission doesn’t go through for some reason. It is fine to just cut and paste your responses from your document into the form.

  2. Based on the number of applicants, you may be asked to participate in an interview. Fill out the TSTDC Exec Interview Availability Signup Sheet before Monday, May 18 to indicate a preferred time you would be available for an interview if it should be needed. Interviews will be held Tuesday, May 19 - Friday, May 22.


As we begin the selection process, I can’t stress enough that the evaluation of applications only takes into account very specific criteria related to these positions. Exec positions have nothing to do with your personal value and there are lots of ways to lead by example without being an executive officer. 


I am looking forward to an exciting year next year and each of you will have an important part to play in TSTDC’s success whether you serve in a formal leadership role or not. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns or need additional information on any part of this process.
