Judge Requirements
All judges are required to complete the NSDA training - Level 1: Impartial Judging. Judges must also complete the Level 1 training for their event (Congress, Debate, Speech). We recommend judges complete the Level 2 training for their specific debate.
Debate is required to bring one (1) qualified / experienced judge for every one (1) debater/team entered, sort of. On Thursday (LD, PF, & BQ) and Friday (LD, PF, BQ, & Policy), you have to bring one (1) judge for every two (2) debaters/team. BUT on Saturday, you have to bring one (1) judge for every one (1) debater/team entered.
Speech needs 1 judge per 3 events for each day of competition (Friday and Saturday). Each competitor should needs to be able to cover their entries with a judge.
